Sept. 1st marks the beginning of another bloody dolphin hunting season in Taiji.
Ric O’Barry will be heading to Japan next week, along with a number of volunteer Cove Monitors and international supporters from six continents, to join Japanese activists in Tokyo and Taiji. They will be on the beach at the Cove on Sept. 1 in solidarity, calling for an end to the dolphin drive hunts and slaughters.
Also coming will be drummer and singer Matt Sorum, of the rock group Guns & Roses and the super group Kings of Chaos. Matt is a big supporter of Ric and our work in Japan to save dolphins, so he is going to see things at first hand.
There are special media events planned in Tokyo and Taiji, and a few surprises, so check back here to find out the latest information. We also plan to stream video live from Tokyo and Taiji.
Can You Help With Expenses?
Our costs are high to go to Japan, for travel and for hotels, for media outreach and for organizing local activists. We have just established a CrowdRise account for Ric’s Dolphin Project.
