SeaWorld’s Admissions Revenues DOWN in 2015 Q1

SeaWorld’s 2015 Q1 earnings have just been released. They claim attendance numbers are up, yet admissions revenues are down.
On May 7, 2015, SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. reported financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2015. According to these results, attendance was at 3.2 million (for the first quarter in 2015), versus 3.0 million in 2014.
But don’t let the numbers fool you.
Listed in their Statement of Operations, net admissions revenues decreased during this period of 2015, versus 2014.
In today’s highly-competitive corporate world, every dollar counts.
By not buying a ticket to a dolphin show, you as a consumer are sending SeaWorld and other aquariums a clear message: Get OUT of the captivity business and commit to the restoration and preservation of wild habitats, thus helping to ensure wild dolphin populations thrive in a wild world.
Doesn’t that sound more like a real “sea world?”
