Pilot Whale Rescued in Bali

Bali, Indonesia: While it’s not uncommon to find dolphins and other whales stranded along coastal communities, the survivability of such mammals is always precarious.

A few days ago, our team in Indonesia received news of a stranded pilot whale. Says Femke Den Haas, Dolphin Project Indonesian Campaign Director, “As soon as we learned about this dolphin in distress, our team immediately went out to investigate.”
Led by Amank Raga of Dolphin Project, the team managed to help the stranded individual back to the ocean to reunite with its family. We are hopeful for a happy ending, however the team is on standby should the dolphin re-strand.
