May 11 is Empty the Tanks!

Save the date! On May 11, say NO to the dolphin show and join thousands of activists across the world during the 7th annual Empty the Tanks worldwide event.
What better way to create positive change than through education? Empty the Tanks does just that – by educating about the horrific realities of dolphin captivity, potential visitors to marine parks and aquariums will be able to make informed decisions about whether to support institutions that use dolphins for entertainment. It’s all about building awareness, and sparking a positive and productive dialogue about the unethical practice of keeping dolphins captive.

“Marine entertainment parks have no place in our world anymore. Dolphins and other whales are incredibly social, and highly intelligent emotional beings. They are being exploited all over the world in entertainment parks and swim-with dolphin attractions. It is unethical and time to bring an end to the captivity industry.” ~ Rachel Carbary, Founder of Empty the Tanks Worldwide
Empty the Tanks was founded by Rachel Carbary in 2013. After visiting Taiji, Japan as a volunteer to help document the annual dolphin slaughters that take place in the Cove, she decided she wanted to take this fight to the captivity industry, Says Rachel, “I had stood in Taiji and given a voice to the dolphins who lost their lives in those waters, now I was going to give a voice to the dolphins and whales suffering in captivity all over the world.” In addition to educating on the captivity issue, Empty the Tanks also aims to bring awareness to the health of the oceans – without which, cetaceans and other marine life will be unable to thrive.
So please join us on May 11 and together, let’s put a permanent end to dolphin captivity!
