Congratulations to ‘Class Umah Lumba’!

Learning should be fun! And, that’s exactly what transpired these past, three months, culminating in the graduation of our first three classes of students at the Umah Lumba Education Center, in West Bali, Indonesia.
Here, 45 students, learning in small groups of 15 children, fulfilled three months of English courses. Each class was named in honor of Dewa, Johnny and Rocky, three dolphins confiscated from the Melka Hotel where they suffered in the name of human “entertainment”. The classes were fun and educational, and the children never missed a day!

On May 1, we presented certificates and medals to our graduating classes. We are so proud of their commitment! Thank you to Maulana, their teacher, to the volunteers making this possible, and to the village authority of Pejarakan, West Bali.
Across Indonesia, Dolphin Project has been educating on the importance of marine conservation, and of leaving wildlife wild! With the construction of the Umah Lumba Education Center in November 2020, we can continue reinforcing that dolphins are not entertainment, nor should marine environments be exploited.
