The Southern Resident orca pod is making a comeback after almost three years without a successful birth, There has been a bit of a boom with four calves born since December. The orca calves J50, J51, J52 and L121 can been seen frequently. But one calf stands out -J50
“I’ve never seen a baby whale breach like J50,”Her energy is astounding –- I guess not unlike my small kids,” Michael Harris, executive director of Pacific Whale Watch Association, told Global News “She’s constantly leaping into the air, and often curling up and doing belly flops.”
In no wonder Seaworld’s stock keeps dropping with photos of happy wild orcas.
